Pfizer pays $14 billion to acquire an entrepreneurial company with a
successful cancer product that the company took all the way to market.

I am congested thanks to allergies.

A quick couple of comments on NPR’s “All Things Considered” about why Wal-Mart paid $3.3bn for e-commerce startup, Jet.com (nice exit for the early-stage investors).

What didn’t make it through the editing: Jet.com has good algorithms and software for real-time price management, and a comment about a startup having something the industry’s biggest company hadn’t been able to produce internally.

On the tradition of politicians lambasting an industry but taking money
from industry leaders. Reuters contacted me, and I have no idea why.
Politics is not one of my research areas.

The original quote was “It is a hallowed bipartisan campaign tradition.”
The word “bipartisan” disappeared somewhere. Bipartisanship seems to have
disappeared from everything.
