On the move by a hedge fund to hold back investors’ dollars to pay hedge
fund legal fees related to allegations to illegal activity.
“Investors pay hefty fees to the fund’s management firm, expecting it to
pick good, honest people,” said Erik Gordon, a professor at the University
of Michigan Ross School of Business. “When it doesn’t, investors don’t want
to pay the legal fees for a mess they didn’t create.”
